Steps for how to overpay a booking:
This feature is useful to add Gift Certificate/ Coupon to an already paid booking during Check-in Process
In the event you must add payments/funds to a transaction and “overpay” the billing amount a booking can be overpaid using multiple payment methods
Show this area
Choose “Add Payment
Example: Accepting a gift certificate for $100.00. This shows the “overpay” amount
This screen shows the amount overpaid and shows the two transactions that make up this balance.
You can record multiple payments and multiple types.
The overpaid bookings are shown in the Floaters/Pending Refunds list.
The Floaters/Pending refunds display any and all credits recorded.
(The slide belows displays a bug in the amount due to the floater.)
Once you locate the booking you can do the transaction records there.

and refunds can be recorded as made of the excess amount and in what form of payment..
On check-in page select the ticket and click View Booking tab
This will navigate to the booking details page
Scroll down to Payment section and click Add Payment button
Add payment pop up will appear
Select the payment method and enter amount and click Add Payment, the payment will appear in the Payment section of the Booking detail page
Negative current balance ($-50 in this case) denotes the overpaid amount.
Refund can be made for overpaid bookings using Refund Payment button
